Application Engineer (USA – Pacific region)

OPEN MIND Technologies USA provides sales and service for hyperMILL® CAM software directly to end-user customers and through independent dealers in North America. hyperMILL® is developed by our parent company, OPEN MIND Technologies AG of Munich Germany.

The candidate will be motivated and work independently, and together with the OPEN MIND team currently located across the country. The candidate should be based in the southern California to augment the existing regional team.

The emphasis of this job includes:

  • pre-sales demonstrations
  • support cutting benchmarks
  • post-sales customer support
  • software installation and training services
  • participating in trade shows and partner events

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Candidates should have at least 5 years of Application Engineering experience in CAD/CAM, strong computer skills, shop-floor or manufacturing engineering experience , and have strong personal and communication (oral and written) skills.
  • Multi-axis milling and multi-task machining experience is preferred.
  • Competence with SolidWorks or Autodesk Inventor is a plus, as well as practical knowledge of Heidenhain, Siemens and Fanuc controls for multi-axis applications. Knowledge of German or Spanish language is helpful, but is not required.
  • The job requires some travel in US and Canada, and occasionally overseas as well. Most travel should be in Pacific region.
