CAM software for high-performance cutting (HPC)

This package offers outstanding solutions for high-performance cutting (HPC) with spiral and trochoidal tool movements. It combines many advantages, including optimum milling paths, maximum material removal, and the shortest possible production times.

The roughing module is a powerful package for generating spiral and trochoidal toolpaths. Sensational material removal rates allow for extremely fast machining. Stress on the tool and machine is reduced at the same time. As an added advantage, users have maximum programming freedom for 2.5D, 3D, or 5‑axis machining jobs. A comprehensive 5‑axis HPC package allows spiral-shaped and trochoidal-like paths to be mapped to curved component surfaces.

The High-Performance roughing module

Details about the roughing module in hyperMILL® MAXX Machining

MAXXimum reduction in machining times

hyperMILL® MAXX Machining reduces milling times significantly when compared with conventional roughing. Intelligent division into spiral and trochoidal tool paths allows for high-volume material removal.

MAXXimized tool life

Full cuts are prevented with hyperMILL® MAXX Machining. Stress on the tool is reduced, significantly extending tool life, especially when harder materials are machined.

Intelligent feed rate adjustment

Special automated functions analyze the local component conditions – wrapping and running at speed around the edges – the feed rates along the toolpath are automatically adjusted.

MAXXimum stock removal rate

hyperMILL® MAXX Machining allows users to define minimum and maximum feed rates for different machining situations such as during the approach, the plunge and for the actual machining in the plane.

Intelligent division of cuts

hyperMILL® MAXX Machining automatically recognizes a machining situation with different planes and optimally adjusts to the situation. Material is removed with maximum stepdown depth. The remaining material is then removed from the bottom up in defined intermediate steps.
